About Me

My photo
Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa
I grew up in the dusty streets of Soshanguve, a township in Pretoria; South Africa. Grew up with my mother who is an amazing woman that raised my brother and I all by herself. For curiosity reasons, my parents are divorced and my mother is just amazing enough to look after the both of us. I found out at a young age that I'd lost my sister and faced with numerous other challenges growing up, poetry was my way out. That played a big role in who I am today and has earned me a few achievements, the biggest being granted the opportunity of being a published poet in an Anthology called "Daybreak" and having earned other achievements and also making a start of writing for a few artists and producers. I'm too a daughter, a friend, an aunt, a blessing, a miracle, a lyricist, and therefore, a lyrical miracle. I'm not unique because I'm not like everyone else 'cause everyone's unique... Get me?? I love music, i love drama, i love basketball (i DO play it but I'm no player), I love my mother, I love myself and my first love, i love poetry...

My mask...

From the time I awake, I feel the need to touch
I see the space between my mask and I is far too much
Apart from contemplating the true me
I time and watch the past of 'we'
My mask and I...
I put it on and smile but I know I live a lie...

A lie of happiness and laughter
Whilst it's sadness day by day as I get sadder
Sadder because of the mask I wear
Happiness I cannot bare

My naked face shows emotions
My mask shows rotations of all these emotions
I live a lie but am solitary
Express these emotions through poetry
With this thing on... My mask
I realise there's something for my life to see, I perceive a task

Yes, I live a lie
I laugh and yet I cry
Count yourself lucky 'cause you live, but I exist
I feel my life I should give and yet I resist

Please don't blame me 'cause I too wanna be like you and have a task
The only reason I possess my mask...
